Longley successfully completed a 35-week nursery block replacement at a primary school in Kent, delivering a modern and fully functional facility. The project began with the setup of temporary classrooms to ensure uninterrupted learning during construction. Once in place, the existing nursery block was safely demolished to make way for the new development.
Extensive groundwork followed, including pouring new foundations, installing essential utilities, and completing the structural base. The new nursery building was constructed using a robust brick and blockwork system, topped with a trussed rafter roof, and finished with full-height external treatments to ensure durability and aesthetic appeal.
Inside the building, Longley carried out all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) works in two phases—first and second fix—alongside insulation, plastering, carpentry, flooring, and final decoration. Each stage was carefully coordinated to meet the design standards and functional requirements of a modern educational setting.
The project concluded with rigorous testing, snagging, and the completion of final landscaping to enhance the surrounding environment. Delivered on schedule, the new nursery provides an improved learning space tailored to the needs of young children, staff, and the wider school community.
