A comprehensive student accommodation refurbishment project was successfully delivered, encompassing the full project lifecycle from early design coordination and procurement through to phased construction, fit-out, and final handover within a live, occupied building.
The initial phase focused on site setup, demolition, and enabling works, including the careful retention of selected fixtures for reuse. Structural modifications, drainage penetrations, and firestopping works were completed before progressing to the installation of new partitions, bathroom enclosures, kitchens, and first-fix mechanical and electrical services.
Subsequent phases delivered ceilings, joinery, internal doors, second-fix services, and full internal decoration. Fit-out works included flooring and sanitaryware, mechanical and electrical commissioning, and the integration of kitchen and fire safety systems to meet current standards.
The final stages concentrated on furnishing and finishes, with the installation of beds, wardrobes, desks, blinds, mirrors, and bathroom accessories. The project concluded with thorough cleaning, inspections, and the successful handover of 28 fully refurbished apartments.
Delivered within a live, occupied building, the works were carefully phased to minimise disruption to residents. The completed accommodation now provides modern, comfortable, and fully equipped living spaces designed to meet the needs of today’s students.
