22/12/2025 Bromley Council has announced the successful reopening of Orpington Library following its recent refurbishment, welcoming residents back to the community facility ahead of the festive period.
The project forms part of Bromley Council’s £11 million borough-wide library repair programme, which aims to improve library buildings across the borough while enhancing accessibility, sustainability and long-term usability.
We were pleased to attend the reopening event and to have delivered the refurbishment works as the council’s partner contractor. The project included a range of internal and external improvements to support modern, inclusive library facilities for residents of all ages.
The reopening was marked by a community celebration, reflecting the important role libraries continue to play as welcoming, multi-purpose spaces for residents and families across the borough.
