Family Hub – Reception and Communal Area Refurbishments
Client: Local Authority
Sector: Healthcare
Value: £600,000.00

The refurbishment of a Family Hub presented a unique challenge due to its live occupied environment. Serving over 200 families daily, careful planning was essential to minimise disruption while enhancing the facility. The project was characterised by a critical deadline that coincided with the beginning of the summer holidays, requiring meticulous scheduling and execution.

To ensure the safety of children and staff, a comprehensive health and safety plan was implemented. This included clear signage, restricted access to construction zones, and regular safety briefings for workers. Daily inspections ensured compliance with safety standards, fostering a secure environment throughout the refurbishment.

Upon completion, we initiated a social value activity to express our commitment to the community. We organized a “Family Fun Day,” inviting local families to tour the newly refurbished centre. Activities included arts and crafts, educational workshops, and health screenings provided by local organizations. This event not only celebrated the refurbished space but also engaged the community, fostering relationships and encouraging continued involvement with the centre.

The successful refurbishment of this Family Hub not only met the critical deadline but also provided a vibrant, safe environment for children, reinforcing our dedication to social responsibility and community well-being.
