The Challenge
We were appointed to deliver a comprehensive package of passive fire protection works at a primary school in North East London as part of a critical fire safety compliance programme. The scope included the development of a fire strategy, installation of approximately 300 metres of fire compartmentation, and the replacement of non-compliant fire door sets.
All works were required to be undertaken within a live, occupied school environment, with heightened health, safety, and safeguarding considerations. Programme constraints were fixed around school holidays and half-term periods, meaning all activities had to be delivered within immovable deadlines while maintaining uninterrupted school operations and always
ensuring pupil safety.
The Solution
We delivered a carefully phased and fully compliant solution, aligned to the school’s operational requirements and academic calendar. This included a detailed fire safety survey and fire strategy, installation of fire compartmentation to wall heads, and fire stopping of service penetrations using certified fire batt systems and intumescent collars.
Existing doors were logistically removed and replaced with fully compliant FD30-rated fire door sets, improving both life safety and regulatory compliance. Through flexible resourcing, robust programme management, and enhanced safeguarding controls, all works were completed safely, on time, and within budget.
