Primary School – Playground Refurbishment
Client: Local Authority
Sector: Education
Value: £480,000.00

A local school undertook a comprehensive refurbishment of its playground to create a safer and more engaging outdoor space for students. The project was executed while the school remained fully operational, ensuring minimal disruption to daily activities.

Health and safety were top priorities throughout the refurbishment. A thorough risk assessment guided all construction activities, and strict safety measures were enforced to protect students and staff during the project. The new playground was equipped with modern, durable play structures designed to inspire creativity and physical activity.

In addition to traditional playground equipment, a sensory garden was incorporated into the design, providing a tranquil space for students to explore nature and engage their senses. This area promotes relaxation and enhances the overall learning environment.

The project was delivered on time and within budget, thanks to effective planning and communication among contractors and school administrators.

Upon completion, our team organised a social values activity, inviting students and staff to participate in a planting day in the sensory garden. This initiative fostered a sense of community and ownership over the new space, making the playground not just a place for play, but a vibrant hub for learning and social interaction.
