Social Housing – External Works and Security Upgrades
Client: Local Authority
Sector: Housing
Value: £900,000.00

The project to install new security gates, perimeter walls, and a door entry system for 321 occupied apartments was a significant step toward enhancing safety and security for residents. Given that the apartments were inhabited during the entire process, careful planning and execution were paramount to minimize disruption while prioritizing health and safety.

A dedicated resident liaison officer was appointed to facilitate communication throughout the project. This officer served as the primary contact for residents, providing regular updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring that residents felt informed and engaged. Weekly meetings and progress reports helped foster transparency and trust within the community.

Health and safety protocols were strictly enforced to protect both the construction team and residents. This included clear signage, restricted access to work areas, and regular safety briefings to mitigate risks associated with the ongoing work.

The project scope included the installation of robust, aesthetically pleasing security gates and perimeter walls that not only enhanced safety but also improved the overall appearance of the property. Additionally, a state-of-the-art door entry system was implemented, providing secure access while allowing for visitor management.

Despite the challenges of working in an occupied environment, the project was successfully delivered on time and within budget, significantly increasing residents’ peace of mind and showcasing our commitment to quality, health, and community well-being in residential developments.
