Longley’s Step Challenge Continues to Build Momentum

23/07/2026 Longley’s first-ever company-wide Step Challenge is continuing to inspire colleagues across the business, with participants embracing the opportunity to improve their health and wellbeing while enjoying some friendly competition.

Since the challenge began at the start of July, employees have been tracking their daily steps, climbing the live leaderboard and finding new ways to stay active throughout the working day. Whether it’s walking between meetings, taking the stairs, enjoying a lunchtime walk or leaving the car at home, every step is contributing towards a healthier and more active workplace.

The enthusiasm and commitment shown by colleagues has been fantastic, with participants encouraging one another and making wellbeing a priority both in and outside of work. The challenge has highlighted how small, consistent lifestyle changes can have a significant impact over time.

One standout achievement so far has come from Steve Francis, Project Manager, who yesterday surpassed an incredible 500,000 steps with more than a week still remaining in the challenge. Reaching this milestone is a remarkable accomplishment and reflects Steve’s dedication throughout the month. His achievement has certainly raised the bar as colleagues continue their push towards the finish line.

Delivered in partnership with Gillian Hatherall from Wellness That Works, the Step Challenge forms part of Longley’s wider commitment to supporting employee health and wellbeing. Alongside encouraging physical activity, the initiative has also provided colleagues with advice on hydration and nutrition to help them build sustainable, healthy habits.

With the challenge entering its final stages, there’s still everything to play for. We look forward to seeing how the leaderboard develops over the coming days and celebrating everyone’s achievements when the challenge comes to a close.
