A new football and community pavilion was successfully constructed at Greatness Recreation Ground in Sevenoaks, Kent, providing modern, inclusive facilities for Sevenoaks Town Football Club and the wider local community. Supported by significant funding from the Football Association, the development was designed to enhance grassroots sport and create a welcoming, multi-purpose community space.
The project involved the construction of a new pavilion comprising modern changing rooms, a community gym, fully equipped kitchen, café and communal refreshment areas. These facilities provide improved amenities for players, supporters and visitors, while offering flexible spaces for community activities, social gatherings and private events.
Sustainability was a key consideration throughout the development, with the incorporation of solar panels, an air source heat pump, a living green wall and green roof elements. The works also included improvements to the surrounding landscaping and external facilities, enhancing the overall appearance and functionality of the recreation ground.
Working collaboratively with Sevenoaks Town Council, Sevenoaks Town FC, subcontractors and supply chain partners, Longley successfully delivered and handed over the completed pavilion. The facility was officially opened in September, bringing together representatives from the club, local council and wider community to celebrate this significant milestone.
The completed development provides a modern, sustainable and welcoming environment that supports the continued growth of grassroots football while creating a valuable community asset for residents, visitors and future generations.
