The London Islamic Centre is currently in the first phase of the project, which will eventually lead to the completion of a 5000 capacity mosque. This will result in one of the largest prayer capacities in London. The project for Phase 1A was initially for 21 weeks with additional variations to suit the most up to date fire strategy regulations, such as smoke extraction and a sprinkler system. Daniel Lines is the Project Manager and it has been running with up to 30 operatives daily.
The project involves the full refurbishment and mechanical and electrical package of Phase 1A basement and ground floor. The project total currently stands at £1.4m. This first phase of the project will eventually lead to the refurbishment of levels 1 & 2 with a mechanical and electrical package.
